Forehead lines

Forehead lines are caused by repeated lifting of the brows during facial expressions and gradual loss of collagen, elastin and skin hydrators; as well as repetitive facial expressions; gravity and mechanical compression.
Frown Lines

Frown lines appear on the bridge of the nose and forehead due to repeated frowning or squinting. They become more noticeable with age. We offer various treatments like anti-wrinkle injections and Venus therapies to address these lines.
Hollow Temples

As we get older, our faces lose volume due to tissue and fat loss and decreased bone density. This is particularly noticeable around the temples and eyes, especially in lean individuals and the elderly. Restoring temple volume can lift the eyebrows, open the eyes, and lift the mid-face, giving a more youthful appearance.
Dropping Brows

As we age, drooping brows (ptosis) become more common due to decreased collagen, elastin, and skin moisture. This causes the skin to sag, especially at the temples. Drooping brows can make us appear tired and interfere with makeup application, such as eyeshadow, eyeliner, and foundation.
Nose Hump

Sunken cheeks can be caused by genetics, aging, or weight loss. As we get older, our facial fat and muscle decrease, making our faces appear thinner and more hollow. This can lead to noticeable lines around the mouth and other facial folds.
Deep nose-to-mouth lines

Nose-to-mouth lines form on either side of the mouth when facial skin and cheek structures weaken with age. These semi-circular folds, composed of fibrous tissue, become more prominent as skin thins and sags. Repeated smiling can also accentuate these lines, contributing to a tired appearance.
Marionette lines

Marionette lines, vertical lines between the mouth and chin, are caused by mid-face volume loss. This occurs as facial fat degrades, shrinks, and slips downward with age. The thinner skin around the mouth area is more susceptible to wrinkles, making Marionette lines visible as early as the 20s.
Smokers Lines (above the lip)

Smoker’s Lines form over time and are caused by repetitive facial expressions and the natural ageing process. These dynamic lines run from the top lip towards the nose, starting off as fine lines which become deeper over time.
Thin lips

Thin lips are often genetic but may become thinner due to ageing. Some people feel self-conscious of thin lips that disappear when they smile whilst others may want a fuller and more defined lip to enhance their appearance.
Gummy Smile

‘Gummy Smile’ is a condition where a significant portion of the gums is visible when a person smiles. The visibility of gums while smiling varies from person to person, and what might seem normal for one might be excessive for another. Therefore, it is a subjective issue based on individual perception.
Double Chin

A double chin forms when excess fat accumulates in the neck or the skin sags beneath the chin. This can give the neck a saggy appearance, often referred to as a turkey neck. While common in ageing, double chins can also occur in overweight individuals. In some cases, genetics play a role, leading to a fuller neck from a young age.
Weak Chin

A weak chin, characterised by a misalignment of the upper and lower jaws, can be enhanced with dermal fillers. These fillers help to extend the chin and improve its appearance, creating a more balanced facial profile.
Cobblestone Chin

A cobblestone chin gives the appearance of a bumpy and uneven skin texture on the chin, this is often exaggerated with certain facial expressions and becomes more noticeable with age as we naturally lose the layer of overlying fat.
Wide Jaw

A double chin forms when excess fat accuA wide or heavy-set jaw can often be caused by enlargement of the masseter muscles. The masseters sit over the jaw and can be felt when clenching the back teeth. In some people, due to genetics or frequent jaw clenching, the masseters can enlarge.
Teeth Grinding

Teeth grinding and jaw clenching is a common sleep disorder often associated with concentration or stress. Many people are unaware of their bruxism, which can lead to symptoms like headaches, ear pain, jaw pain, tooth wear, sensitivity, and breakage.
Acne

Acne affects most people at some point in their lives. It is a long-term inflammatory condition caused by over-production of oil (sebum), congestion of dead skin cells, inflammation and bacterial colonisation.
Acne scars

Acne scars are a common result of severe acne, especially from nodules or cysts. However, any acne spot can potentially leave a scar. The likelihood of scarring increases when deep spots like nodules or cysts rupture and damage surrounding tissue.
Sunken Cheeks

Sunken cheeks can be caused by genetics, aging, or weight loss. As we get older, our facial fat and muscle decrease, making our faces appear thinner and more hollow. This can lead to noticeable lines around the mouth and other facial folds.

Excessive sweating

Excessive sweating, also known as hyperhidrosis, is a condition where sweat glands are over-active. The body normally sweats to regulate body temperature. In hyperhidrosis, however, the sweating is unnecessary and can be embarrassing. The most common areas affected are the scalp, forehead, underarms, hands and feet.
Stretch marks

Stretch marks, often appearing on areas like the abdomen, breasts, hips, and buttocks, are indented streaks caused by rapid skin stretching. This stretching tears the middle skin layer (dermis), commonly occurring during growth spurts, pregnancy, or rapid weight gain.

Sagging Eyelids

Sagging eyelids, a genetic trait that often worsens with age, are characterized by excess skin drooping from the brow bone towards the eyelashes. This can make eyes appear smaller and hinder makeup application.
Dark Circles

Dark circles under the eyes are a common issue, often caused by factors like genetics, sleep deprivation, and sun exposure. They can make one appear tired and unhealthy. While makeup can help disguise them, the underlying causes must be addressed for a lasting solution.
Eyebags

Eye bags are a frequent concern at any age. They can be hereditary or caused by factors like insufficient sleep, frequent travel, unhealthy habits, and aging. Puffy eye bags can make one appear tired or unhealthy and can be challenging to disguise with cosmetics..
Crows Feet

Crow's feet lines, also known as smile lines or laughter lines, appear at the corners of the eyes. They form due to repeated facial expressions and the natural ageing process, which causes the skin to lose elasticity and volume.

Crepey Skin

Crepey skin, often found in areas like the underarms and neck, is characterized by its thin, wrinkled appearance resembling crepe paper. This loss of elasticity and firmness is due to reduced oil glands and skin thickness in these regions.
Jowls

Sagging skin beneath the jawline, neck, and chin is commonly referred to as jowls. This often occurs as we age due to thinner, less elastic skin and the downward pull of gravity. Lifestyle factors like weight loss, smoking, and genetics can also contribute.
Sagging Skin

Saggy skin, on both the face and body, is often associated with the loss of fat. The deterioration or reduction of collagen and elastin in the dermis are another cause of saggy skin. While anyone can get saggy skin, it's more likely to occur in people as they age
Leg thread veins

Thread veins are dilated blood vessels in the dermis that appear as red, purple, or blue lines just beneath the skin. They are often caused by factors like inflammation, acne, hormones, sun exposure, trauma, alcohol, or medication. These veins have no functional purpose and can be unsightly.
Scars

Scars come in various types, including pitted, atrophic, hypertrophic, and keloid. They form after injuries and are a result of our body's collagen production during healing. While many scars fade over time, they often don't disappear completely.
Cellulite

Cellulite, the bumpy skin on thighs and buttocks, is caused by fibrous bands connecting skin to underlying tissue. These bands divide fat pockets and pull the skin down, creating dimples.
Sun Damage

Sun damage, also known as photoaging or dermatoheliosis, is caused by ultraviolet (UV) light from the sun damaging skin cells. It can increase the risk of skin cancers and cause premature aging of the skin. Clinically, sun damage appears as wrinkles, pigmentation, broken capillaries, rough skin texture, laxity and thinning of the skin.
Ageing Hands

Hands often show signs of aging first, with wrinkles and loose skin becoming more noticeable. Sun damage and age spots can accelerate this process. While aging is natural, factors like smoking, excessive handwashing, and sun exposure can contribute to premature aging of the hands.
Ageing Decolletage

The décolletage is a part of the body that ages quickly. Sun exposure and skin creasing during sleep result in pigmentation, skin thinning and wrinkles. There are a number of treatment options that are well-suited to rejuvenating the Ageing Décolletage to make it smoother, tighter and brighter.
Ageing neck

Loose or sagging skin on the neck is a common concern that can worsen as the ageing process continues to reduce collagen and elastin fibres in the skin.
Red cheeks

Rosacea (roe-ZAY-she-uh) is a common skin condition that causes flushing or long-term redness on your face. It also may cause enlarged blood vessels and small, pus-filled bumps. Some symptoms may flare for weeks to months and then go away for a while. Rosacea can be mistaken for acne, dermatitis or other skin problems.
Large pores

Pores are essential for skin health, as they allow sweat and oil to reach the skin’s surface. However some of us can experience enlarged pores commonly around the nose and cheeks. There are many factors that can cause enlarged pores including genetics, age, sun exposure and skin type.
Dry skin

Dry skin, or xerosis, is characterised by a lack of moisture in the outer skin layer. This can lead to dryness, cracking, and discomfort. Factors contributing to dry skin include excessive UV exposure, harsh weather, harsh soaps, overbathing, certain skincare products, and exposure to chemicals.
Pigmentation/Melasma – IPL

There are two types of pigmentation: hyperpigmentation (darker areas) and hypopigmentation (lighter areas). Hyperpigmentation can be caused by sun damage, inflammation, or melasma. Treatment options vary based on the type of pigmentation and its underlying cause.
Skin tags

Skin tags are harmless growths that can appear anywhere on your skin, but often develop on the neck, eyelids, or underarms. They may be the same color as your skin or darker. Some are pink. Others turn red when irritated.

I would like to give a testimony of my wonderful experience as a patient of Dr Oliphant. I have recently had an upper lid Blepharoplasty. Despite only being in my early thirties, I had concerns over a degree of asymmetry. Following a road traffic accident some years ago, I had developed Bells Palsy which had left my left eye slightly lopsided. A close friend (also a medical professional) had told me, “the only man to see is Dr Huw Olpihant!” Meeting Huw for the first time at my initial consultation was great. We spent time discussing my concerns and he was incredibly understanding and honest. He insisted I go away for a few weeks to consider if the procedure was the route i’d like to take. My procedure itself was far less intrusive than I had imagined. I chatted away the whole time! Recovery was also much easier than anticipated. The first couple of days were a little sore, as to be expected, but easily manageable with some paracetamol. Huw went above and beyond to check in with me and be supportive following the procedure. The end result… incredible. It’s such a subtle change which has really opened my face up again and people have commented how fresh faced I look - which is always lovely to hear! I wanted to share my experience for anyone who is considering this type of procedure, to be assured that Huw is 100% your guy. He is a highly skilled surgeon, both caring and kind. Thank you Huw for all your support.

I have had facial vein treatments from time to time over many years, but I have to say that the treatment at The Doctor Clinic with Nikki has been the best by far. Just three treatments and those pesky little broken veins have been removed. My skin is the clearest it has looked for a very long time. So a big thank you to Nikki. The Clinic is a lovely, light and welcoming space to have treatments. I look forward to returning for other treatments in the future. Oh, and excellent parking spaces available too!! Sally

Just an all-round fantastic experience at The Doctor Clinic. I wouldn't go anywhere else. I am absolutely thrilled with my results from Morpheus 8 as I wanted to tighten some parts of my skin. I have also had botox here which is also fantastic with competitive pricing but with the 5* experience. I just can't wait for them to open up the dentist! It truly is a one stop shop for everything with talented medical professionals.

I was recommended The Doctor Clinic by a friend who frequently goes but was still sceptical. After seeing Dr Gabriella nominated for Rising Star of the year and the clinic voted one of the best in UK it out my mind a little at ease. I must say my experience was nothing short of amazing. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by the attentive staff and enveloped in a serene calming atmosphere. I went for skin tightening and opted for the Morpheus 8 treatment. Dr Gabriella’s experience & attention to detail was nothing short of fantastic. I’m looking forward to my next appointment.
